"31 Days" Happy Hour/Wichita Mountains Camping Trip

February 2: Regan and Chandra's first beer in 31 days!

Surprisingly, Kevin's not even drunk at this point...

The Kentinator

If you could read Chandra's mind.... "Where is that waitress with my BEER?!?!?!"

Mine, David's, and Jason's tents... this is how you camp in sub-freezing weather.

It's about 6:00 PM on Saturday and the temps are in the 40s at this point.

Who brought the ice???

Oh give me a home...

Waiting in line...

We camped in that direction...

Cold and windy

Ice ice baby

This is a place in the park called "Holy City."

Statue of Jesus

Look carefully and you'll see deer. We had deer come into the campsite.

Prairie Dog Town

Sorry, this just cracked me up!

"Sweet Merciful Crap this tastes AWESOME!!!"

"So a guy walks into a bar carrying an orange..."

Cuban cigars

February 17-19: Camping in the Wichita Mountains near Lawton, OK.

And we burned almost all of this firewood.

Getting ready for one freakin' cold night!

David grilling fish he caught in the Gulf of Mexico last summer. More importantly, it's officially below freezing!

Sunday morning getting ready for a 7 mile run. Temps got down to 15 the night before.

... where the buffalo roam...

Getting ready for our longhorn cheeseburger.

Eating fried green tomatoes.

At the top of Scott's Mountain.

I almost lost my hat... twice.

Longhorns... mmm... tasty!

Prairie Dog

This pic turned out good.

Gaurav and Paul at the Idle Rich Pub in Uptown.

I was one happy camper...

View from our campsite.

Bird

Not sure why I took this picture...

It's probably in the upper 30s at this point.

This is the World Famous Meer's Country Store and Restaurant in Meer's, OK.

Behold... the World's Famous Meer's Longhorn Cheeseburger... in all its glory!!!

Oooooklahoma....!!!

Out in the distance are well over a hundred wind mills... this picture is about half of what there were.

Did I mention there are lots of buffalo roaming around the refuge?

Turkeys... eating in the yard of one of the staff.

As I was leaving on Monday, the buffalo were closer to the road.
